National Support Groups and Services

There are many forms of support and advice available nationally that can support families at different points of their child, or young person’s life. Please see below for a number of national organisations who can provide you with a range of support, legal advice and guidance. 

Contact

Contact is a national support charity for families with disabled children.

 

They can help you with information or advice, questions about your child’s condition or you can join one of our helpful workshops.

IPSEA

Independent Provider of Special Education Advice (known as IPSEA) is a registered charity operating in England. IPSEA offers free and independent legally based information, advice and support to help get the right education for children and young people with all kinds of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

National Autistic Society

National charity that runs a number of helplines which can give advice on education, benefits, social care, school exclusions and transition.
