Leisure Activities and Short Breaks

As a SEND family you cannot always easily access the same activities and child care options as other families. You may also need resbite care for your child and support to allow you and your family to cope with the day to day life of living with a child with SEND. Please find below local options and opportunties for your family.

Wandsworth SEND Local Offer

Wandsworth SEND Local Offer provides information on a range of leisure activities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. 

WAND and WAND plus cards

WAND and WAND card plus holders can receive discounts and concessions on local activities during school holidays.  

Wandsworth Short Breaks Guide

The Wandsworth Short Breaks offer is designed to give families of children and young people with disabilities access to a range of different short breaks opportunities.

SEN TALK 

Provides a range of social opportunities, clubs and activities, during term time for children with ASD and ADHD.

Brick Club Monday 4-5pm from  5 – 12 years
Youth Club Tuesday 6-8pm from 13-16 years 
Stem Club Wednesday 4-6pm 7-11 years 
Communicate Youth Club Thursday 5-7pm 9-13 years
Minds Matter Mentoring programme provides children and young people with SEND (from 5-16) with a weekly 1:1 session with a mentor of up to an hour.

Enable Sports Club Wandsworth

Club Enable Wandsworth offers a range of sports for children, aged 8 and over. Siblings are welcome to join in and families are encouraged to stay and watch and even take part. 

Tuesdays 4.30 – 6.30pm at Caius House Youth Centre.

Youth Clubs

There are a range of Youth Clubs which welcome children and young people with disabilities and special educational needs across the borough.

Youth Groups specifically for young people with special needs and disabilities

Unique Youth is for young people aged 13-25 years old with learning disabilities and complex needs.

 

Generate is a youth provision is for young people with learning disabilities, aged 11-17 years

Lady Allen Playground:

An adventure playground that caters for children and young people who are profoundly disabled, have autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural disabilities and those who are yet to receive a diagnosis.   Brothers and sisters with a sibling registered with Lady Allen can also attend with their sibling.
